Herndon U12 Boys Travel Soccer 5K Fun Run!
Race Description
Join us for the very first, inaugural, never-before-attempted unofficial (nevertheless profoundly prestigious) Saturday, Nov. 13 ANNUAL HERNDON U12 BOYS TRAVEL SOCCER 5K FUN RUN AND WALK.
Rarely, if ever, do we have the opportunity to do so much for so many in such little time - CELEBRATE our beloved hometown of Herndon, home to the finest pass-and-move boys’ U12 soccer teams south of the Koksoak River!!
There are two ways to join in this amazingly fun, extraordinarily healthy, family-friendly event: you can join your fellow Herndonians on Saturday 8:30 - 11:30 AM, Nov. 13 at Mile 20 in downtown Herndon, next to the WO&D trail, for a 5K (3.1 miles, 24 furlongs) run and/or walk…or you can join us virtually. You can accomplish the distance at anytime on Nov. 13th. For live racers, shirts will be available for pick-up race morning. This is a SELF-MARSHALLED race. You are welcome to run the event anywhere and at anytime on Nov. 13th, just make sure you come by and visit us at Mile 20!
If you are unable to participate this year but want to support our boys, donating to these three great teams is welcome under the registration page.
The Herndon Youth Soccer (HYS) program, led by our Technical Director Nick Arzani and professional coaching staff, has quickly established our club as one of the most competitive recreational and travel soccer clubs in the DC/MD/VA area. Our Travel Soccer Program has more than 30 competitive teams (ages 7-19), and our Recreational Soccer Program has more than 120 teams (ages 4-19). Our travel teams play in Club Champions League (CCL) Premiership, Club Champions League (CCL) Championship, and National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and EDP. In 2021 HYS added the TOPSoccer program which serves players with disabilities. Our teams have found success at marquee tournaments, Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) State Cup, and United States Youth Soccer (USYS) Region 1 Championships. We have had countless players participate at the college and professional level after matriculating at our club.
Our Recreational Program relies heavily on the selfless dedication of our volunteer corps, starting with the Age Group Commissioners, who manage the leagues of their respective age groups, and our terrific volunteer coaches, who have all played a key role in establishing Herndon Youth Soccer Recreational Program as one of the most competitive in Northern Virginia, evidenced by All-Star tournaments and the astounding number of our recreational players that have excelled on their high school soccer teams.

$30 Virtual race (shirt and medal will be mailed)
$25 Kids (13 and under) includes medal and shirt - LIVE
$30 Adult (14 and above) includes medal and shirt - LIVE

How to log your miles
ODR is using their https://raceIOT.io web app for the Walk In My Shoes Virtual 5k. This app allows participants to log their miles manually or to use their activity trackers (FITBIT, POLAR, GARMIN, or STRAVA) to log their distance.
1. Go to https://raceIOT.io
2. Click Tools > Submit Data
3. Find your name and enter your PIN (your ZIP Code)
4. Either manually put your time in (as much as you want) - or -
Connect your device account (FITBIT, POLAR, GARMIN, or STRAVA) and run the distance as many times as you like during the allocated race timeframe. RaceIOT will take your best prorated time that matches the race distance. E.g., if you run 4 miles in 40 mins we will log your time for the 3.1 mile race at 31 mins (a 10 min/mile pace).
Only your best time will be represented on the results tab (Tools > Results).
